Context of the Role
South Pennine Academies has been successful in securing funding from the Department for Education’s second round of Strategic School Improvement Fund bids. Our project was borne out of a common need across participating schools in Oldham and Kirklees to improve outcomes in maths for disadvantaged students.
The title of our bid was:
Diminishing the differences for disadvantaged students in mathematics; developing teachers' and teaching assistants' subject knowledge and pedagogy alongside the strengthening of homeschool partnerships.
As part of the bid, the Trust has committed to employing a Maths Outreach Teachers who will support and deliver interventions across the primary and secondary schools (KS3) involved in the project.
The project will run until Easter 2019.
