What Does a Trustee Do?

As a Trustee of South Pennine Academies, you will play a vital role in ensuring the strategic direction, financial sustainability, and educational excellence of our academies. Trustees act as non-executive directors, providing governance, oversight, and challenge to ensure that the Trust upholds its vision, values, and statutory responsibilities. This voluntary role requires a commitment to high standards of governance, an ability to scrutinise key decisions, and a dedication to improving outcomes for all pupils. Working collaboratively with fellow trustees and the executive leadership team, you will help shape the Trust’s long-term success, ensuring it delivers high-quality education while remaining compliant with regulatory and financial requirements.
